In this article, we are going to discuss mainly about Efficiency Transformer or Ideal Transformer? We will try to know completely about what is a efficiency transformer. You must have seen mainly that electricity is sent with the help of transformer. In this topic, we are going to discuss all these things as well and are going to store complete information on all these things in detail.
There used to be a time when there was no electricity facility in homes, but today electricity has reached all over the world and things like Efficiency Transformer – Ideal Transformer were also invented. Our great scientists did this complete miracle. We will know how it was invented.

What is Efficiency Transformer
A Efficiency transformer is a device that converts high voltage into low current and converts low voltage into high current. In the same way, both of them keep changing with each other.
To put this Efficiency Transformer in simple words, it is a device that keeps on increasing or increasing the voltage without harming the energy.
As you must be knowing from the name of Efficiency Transformer , see in this Trans + Former in which Trans means to Transfer and Former means to Forms. That is, to transfer each other forms among themselves.
Efficiency Transformer Discovery
If I talk about Efficiency Transformer discovery, then it was discovered by Michael Faraday and Joseph Henry in 1831 and 1832. He proved how any voltage can be increased or decreased.
His invention was successful and he told the world that we can convert High Voltage into Low Current and Low Voltage into High Current. In this way he put his invention in front of the eyes of the world.
The advantage of this discovery of his is being used all over the world today. And this world salutes his work.
Types of Efficiency Transformer or Ideal Transformer
Efficiency Transformer is divided into two parts which we have discussed below. Types of Efficiency Transformer are the following:
- Step Up Transformer
- Step Down Transformer
Now let us classify these two and know about them both.
Step Up Transformer
Step Up Transformer is one by which the current is converted into High Current at Low Voltage and Low Current at High Voltage.
Step Down Transformer
Step Down Transformer is one in which High Voltage at Low Current and Low Voltage at High Current is converted.
Efficiency Transformer Working
Now in this Efficiency Transformer, we will discuss about its working i.e, transformer working style, how it works.
Transformer mainly works on the principle of mutual induction. Simply put, whenever the strength of current in the primary coil changes, the induced EMF is generated in the secondary coil.
Transformer Parts
Now we will know here what are the parts of transformer and what is their function. Transformer has many parts which are used in Efficiency transformer or ideal transformer. All these parts have their own characteristics.

Tank
This is the main tank of the transformer which is completely empty. And inside this tank every part of the transformer is kept. There are mainly 3 things in this tank. Which are the cows given below.
Core
Core means the middle part and it is made of soft iron. It is thickened and the leaves are taken to thicken this core. These leaves are taken so that Eddy current is not generated in it. Similarly, I keep many things in it, about which we are going to know further.
The meaning of Eddy Current is that whenever an empty space is found anywhere in the transformer, extra current is generated there. This is called Eddy Current.
Therefore all these blades are joined together to make it thicker. Now wherever there will be free space in the transformer and extra current will be generated there, it is reduced due to these blades.
Now this core is winding with copper wire, that is, it is wrapped.
Winding
As you have seen above that winding is done in the core. Now the winding that has been done over this core is lifted and filled in the tank. Now when the transformer is turned on and the transformer is at full load, this binding will become hot.
Now let us see here that when we put the Binding Core in the tank, at that time there will be empty space on it, due to which Eddy current will be generated on it which we have to avoid. Because Eddy Current opposes Original Current.
Oil Indicator
To avoid that empty space, oil is poured on it. This oil is a very thick mineral oil. This oil is called Naphtha Oil which is filled in the main tank. This oil filling process is done so that no empty space is left in it.
Conservator Tank
You cannot fill this oil in the direct main tank. When the transformer becomes too hot, a double tank is used at that time. As you can see in the above picture that a small tank is placed on top of the main tank.
These two tanks are interconnected. This small tank is called a Conservator or Expansion Tank. It is very necessary. If it is not in the transformer, then the transformer will explode.
This happens because whenever the transformer runs for a long time, it becomes completely overloaded and heat is generated from inside it and it starts boiling in the oil, due to which the pressure also increases and it explodes. it happens.
The expansion tank is always half-filled so that whenever the oil becomes hot and boils, it needs some more space to lift it. That’s why it is kept only half.
Breather
Breather in efficiency Transformer is always mounted on the side of the expansion tank. And it is blue in color to see. It is made of Breather Silica Gel. Silica Gel absorbs the moisture generated in the air.

Various Losses in Transformer
Now we will talk about the various losses that happen in Efficiency transformer or Ideal Transformer.
Copper Loss
First of all we will talk about Copper Loss here. You must be well aware that the Primary Coil and Secondary Coil of the Transformer are made of Copper. When electric current passes through these wires, it heats up the wire resistance. And heat is generated in this which is called H = I’2’R. So on this some energy i.e, energy gets wasted.
Iron loss
The core of the transformer is made of iron. When the magnetic flux of iron changes. It is generated in the core of the Eddy Current transformer. Here too some energy is wasted.
Hydrolysis Losses
When the core of the transformer is repeatedly magnetized and demagnetized, some energy is wasted in it even at that time.
Humming Loss
The core of the Efficiency Transformer is the relief that generates Humming Noise again and again, due to which it makes Humming Loss. This happens because of Magneto Stiction.
